Description: Want to learn The Story of Passover and how the Jews were freed from slavery in ancient Egypt? Join us for Passover Playmaking: A 10-Minute Zoomsical. Students will speak text and learn songs from the musical Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat culminating in a final read through. Everyone will be assigned a role and we encourage readers ages 6 - 14 to participate.
About Mara: Mara Jill Herman is the Associate Artistic Director of Ahava Theatre Company. She produces digital content and benefit concerts, most notably Stronger Than Hate which raised funds for the 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue shooting victims and their families. For Ahava, she conceived The Lights, a multicultural Hanukkah video in collaboration with community members and The Broadway Boys to promote Jewish diversity.
Mara teaches for LEAP NYC and Marquis Studios in cooperation with the Department of Education, including special education. She is a Genius Bar veteran and facilitated ConnectED, Apple’s partnership with the White House empowering students and teachers in underserved districts. Mara led the inaugural mentorship training for Maestra and is a Regional Coordinator/founding member for StateraArts NYC.
