Aha 'Awa & Storytellers
On the first Saturday of every month, we invite three different community leaders and upcoming motivational speakers to share their mo'olelo in a safe place amongst locals alike. As we listen to storytelling, we witness native Hawaiian cultural practices and share 'awa in a circle on lauhala mats. This follows an ancient tradition with a modern twist. We invite you to join us as we go back into time with ha'akoa, chants and more. Share a sacred drink carried by some of the first voyagers of the Hawaiian islands and leave with a memorable experience.
Next month's events will be held on October 1st at Kewalo Basin outside near KUPU shed and across from Kewalos surfbreak. See you there!
Past Storytellers have been:
Kumu Hina Wong-Kalu
Brandi Kiana-Jo San Agustin
Meli Lehua Novikoff
Kahu Kamana'o Pono Aweau Agres
Join us for this special event that happens only once a month! All ages are welcome.
