Aha 'Awa & Storytellers
Just two months left of Aha 'Awa & Storytellers! Time change based on the sunset. We are starting at 3:00pm now!
We began this series in March 2016 and we are coming close to the end of the year. Keala, Kiana & Na Mea have worked together putting this event on will be doing great things independently starting January 2017! On the first Saturday of every month, we've invited three different community leaders and upcoming motivational speakers to share their mo'olelo in a safe place amongst locals alike. As we listen to storytelling, we witness native Hawaiian cultural practices and share 'awa in a circle on lauhala mats. This follows an ancient tradition with a modern twist. We invite you to join us as we go back into time with ha'akoa, chants and more. Share a sacred drink carried by some of the first voyagers of the Hawaiian islands and leave with a memorable experience.
Next month's events will be held on November 5th at Kewalo Basin Park at 3:00pm. We will be outside near KUPU shed and across from Kewalos surfbreak. See you there!
