Aging in the Workplace
A forum for business and community leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with an older workforce in Snohomish County, WA.
Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI): 2.5 credit hours*
This event will continue the work of the Senior Consortium of Snohomish County to educate, advocate and facilitate change in support of an aging-friendly community in Snohomish County now and in the future.
Workshop Focus: Employer and employee issues related to aging in the workplace.
Who Should Attend: Employers in Snohomish County interested in exploring the challenges, opportunities and potential solutions created by the reality of our aging workforce.
What to Expect:
Panel presentation by representatives from major employers, small business employers, and human resource professionals. Issues to be discussed include retention of mature workers, hiring, training, technology, health benefits, care giving, accommodations and intergenerational communication. The panel will also present potential solutions they have discovered in addressing these issues.
Small group discussion to identify critical issues and desired changes or solutions to retain and employ mature workers.
Large group report out and the identification of next steps in assuring we are an aging friendly employment community.
