We are proud to announce a special Agile & Scrum Community Event that will be hosted at our Work Is Good Workspace in Irvine, California!
After an individual attends training, it is the beginning of their Agile and Scrum journey. The purpose of our Community Event is to bring together business leaders, IT leaders, and team members to share their journey: the challenges, the success’, the ups and downs of implementing Scrum in the workplace. We believe that through the sharing of their journey, the practitioners will find better ways to conquer the challenges they are facing in their implementation.
Purpose of the group
Provide a forum in Southern California for Agile practitioners to share their Agile adoption journey so that others, whether just starting the journey or seeking to grow, can learn from other practicing professionals. We believe that through sharing, practitioners will discover and explore better ways to overcome the challenges they are facing in their Agile adoption journey.
Audience and Group Focus
Primary focus will be for Agile team members at practicing organizations who will share their journey as opposed to coaches and trainers leading the discussion. We consider coaches and trainers an integral part of the group as contributors to the discussions by revealing potential solutions for the challenges and opportunities surfaced by the group.
Our first meeting will be to get the discussion started on the benefits and challenges faced during adoption and explore potential solutions to the top challenges .The first session will be held on in Irvine from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. David Brown from First American will kick things off by sharing his perspective on how collaborating at the practitioner level hashelped further the Agile adoption at First American.

David has 28 years of IT experience more than 20 years leading software solution projects of varying sizes focused in the healthcare and real estate related industries. He gained a breadth of experience leading teams from start-up companies to Fortune 500 companies and is passionate about improving the business and the customer experience by adding value wherever possible.
David has served as the Director of Product Management and Director of the IT PMO for First American Database Solutions Division leading the adoption of agile practices and standardization of project management processes. David has been a presenter and panelist at the Orange County chapters of Agile SoCal, Agile Leadership Network and Rally's 'Rally on the Rocks.'
In his current position as IT Director in the Title Product Group at First American Title, he mentors individuals and lead teams in building applications to serve the real estate title and settlement services space.
He is a self-appointed chief Agile evangelist and is leading the adoption of Agile software practices throughout First American Family of Companies as an Agile Coach. David is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Project Management Professional (PMI), and ITIL v2 Foundations certified.
