Event Details

Ever meet an entrepreneur and they tell you what they do and after the conversation you have NO idea what they do? I have many times. This workshop will help you avoid that, get it?

Having clear, crisp and provocative messaging is crucial when communicating to others about your business. This workshop will outline the foundation for effective positioning and messaging. We will start with the art of developing a compelling narrative that addresses industry trends, core values propositions and brand values.

This workshop will start with a presentation to level set the group on foundational elements of messaging and positioning. Then we will share the Agile Messaging framework. The second half of the workshop is an interactive working session to help everyone refine their company's "story" so it is clear, impactful and easy to understand.

You will leave this workshop with an improved company message and better understanding of the position you wish to communicateThe working session will use the principles of Agile – build, test and improve – and you will learn techniques to ensure you have a clear message that is understandable.

Who is this for?

Our Presenter & Co-Host

Guy Murrel, Co-Founder and Principal Catapult PR

Guy Murrel

Guy Murrel provides strategic PR counsel to Catapult clients, helping them articulate their story to break through the noise and capture market leadership. With more than 20 years of experience, the last 15 focused on exclusively on the high-tech industry, Murrel has developed the positioning and messaging framework for start-ups, emerging growth companies and Fortune 1000 companies.

As co-founder and principal of Catapult, Murrel is a hands-on leader with proven expertise in executing the strategic and tactical aspects of multi-dimensional public relations campaigns. By properly packaging client news for maximum editorial and analyst coverage, Murrel has developed a strong network of media contacts in IT, telecommunications, wireless, enterprise software, manufacturing and e-commerce.

Prior to Catapult, Murrel was the president of Murrel Public Relations (MPR), a private company that he established in 1995 after noticing there were few full-service firms qualified to serve the growing tech community in the Denver-Boulder area. At MPR, he provided strategic, results-oriented media relations and marketing communications services to a range of technology companies. Previously, Murrel gained extensive high technology experience working for several successful public relations agencies. As a senior management partner, he performed a wide range of corporate communications functions, including strategic planning, writing of news releases and technical articles, media tours and audits, editorial outreach and management of junior staff members.

The lighter side of Guy Murrel – Guy’s storytelling abilities don’t end with helping companies turn technical innovation into market advantage. This PR veteran is a song writer as well, and even cut his own CD under the name Narrow Gauge Band. So the next time there’s a live band playing at your favorite Front Range pub, don’t be surprised to find Guy sitting in on bass. Guy and his wife Irina live in Lafayette with their two sons.
