Agile Innovation: Designing & Guiding Innovation Ecosystems

Charleston, South Carolina | February 22-25, 2017

Innovation Ecosystems don’t just emerge by chance. They can, however, be designed and guided. This immersive workshop will show you how…in a place where it has happened. Starting with not much more than a logo, Ernest Andrade founded the Charleston Digital Corridor by surfacing a handful of innovation assets and then linking, leveraging, and aligning them to point toward new strategic opportunities. He then followed an agile strategy discipline to scale toward the vibrant innovation hotspot. Charleston has become today. In this workshop you will learn from Ernest and see the results with your own eyes.

Leadership from the Agile Strategy Lab at Purdue University was engaged with Ernest in those early days and have partnered with leaders in other regions to help design their innovation ecosystems: aerospace in Rockford, IL, water technology in Milwaukee, clean energy in Florida’s Space Coast, even maple syrup innovation in rural Indiana! You’ll learn from Ed Morrison and Scott Hutcheson of the Purdue Agile Strategy Lab. They’ve distilled these lessons and helped others learn them, conducting workshops in U.S. 44 states and five foreign countries. Joining Ernest, Ed, and Scott will be others from Charleston sharing their insights and experiences, including young tech pros and former Charleston Mayor Joe Riley.

What will be covered:

  • The Balanced Portfolio approach to Innovation Ecosystems: Talent & Brainpower, Innovation Networks, Quality Connected Places, & New Narratives
