Description

Agile New England presents 2 back-to-back conferences:

Agile Games and Mob Programming Conference!

Learn more about both conferences on the websites Agile Games 2019 and Mob Programming 2019.

Agile Games Conference 2019 - April 08 - April 10

Enhance your agile team's working skills in an interactive and fun way!

Agile games are activities focused on teaching, demonstrating, and improving Agile and organizational effectiveness using games and simulations. Games can model the core of complex or time-consuming processes and systems (leaving out unimportant factors), to examine why they work (or don’t work), look for improvements, and teach others how to benefit from them. They can involve collaboration, brainstorming, retrospectives, and comparing variants. Agile games are activities focused on teaching, demonstrating, and improving organizational agility and effectiveness. Agile games are now a fundamental part of many successful Agile transitions.

The Agile Games Conference is an annual event hosted by Agile New England. Each year the Agile Games Conference focuses on various themes such as games for high performing teams, psychological safety, and Agile in the real world. It provides an immersive exploration of some of the more interesting, playful, and fun concepts behind Agile Software Development.

This year Agile Games 2019 is a three day event in Burlington, Massachusetts which will focus on practical Agile - in other words, what makes it work or not work. The conference tracks will be:

  • Scaling Up & Out

  • Distributed Games

  • Games to overcome resistance

  • Technical Games

For more information, visit the Agile Games 2019 Conference website.

Mob Programming Conference 2019 - April 11 - April 12

All the brilliant people, working on the same thing, at the same time, in the same space, and at the same computer.

Mob programming, or “mobbing,” is a software development approach where the whole team works on the same thing, at the same time, in the same space, and at the same computer. The entire team participates in designing, coding, testing, and working with customers, users, and other stakeholders. This is an evolutionary step beyond pair programming, and accentuates the face-to-face communication, team alignment, collaboration, and self-organizing team aspects of the Agile approach to software development.

Mob programming leverages the knowledge of the entire group to make faster, better decisions. This increases the productivity of the team and the quality of their output. Mobbing also encourages cross-training and the sharing of perspectives across functions, which improve collaboration and job satisfaction.

The Mob Programming 2019 Conference will be immersive. You’ll be actively “mobbing” no matter what your starting level of familiarity is. You’ll level-up your game in several sessions during the day. In between, there will be opportunity to process your new learnings and float new insights.
