Agile and Scrum in a Day Training
The Agile and Scrum in a Day training provides an understanding of Agile principles and teaches the practices that make Scrum effective for delivering projects. Exercises, demonstrations, facilitated discussions, and more are interwoven throughout the course to illustrate the principles being taught.
Upon completion of this course participants will have the confidence and understanding to socialize Scrum at their own organization and support teams in improving their processes. Additionally, this course counts for 7 Professional Development Units (PDUs) / contact hours.

About Your Trainers
Mark Grove is an Agile Coach and Management Consultant with over 17 years in the IT profession serving a wide variety of disciplines including Agile coaching, project management, and business process and requirements analysis. Today, he coaches individuals and teams to continuously deliver value to the customer by embracing the Agile mindset and maximizing business performance and team potential. He provides coaching and facilitation expertise on a variety of Agile practices as well as creates and delivers training on a broad range of Agile topics. Mark holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems and holds several Agile certifications some of which include Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Professional in Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC), Agile Team Facilitator (ICP-ATF), and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
Brian Sjoberg is passionate about helping individuals, teams, and organizations adopt practices that live out Lean and Agile principles and values so that they can deliver products their customers love. Native of Florida, Brian earned his Computer Engineering degree from the University of South Florida. Brian started his career as an XP Programmer that evolved into a Project Manager, then ScrumMaster, and finally into an Agile/Lean Coach. He is a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) who has been living on the front lines of implementing Scrum, Kanban, and engineering practices for the past seven years. Brian is also the co-organizer of the DC Scrum User Group (DCSUG).
Price, Date, and Location
The registration fee for this one-day course is $500, inclusive of all taxes and fees. You may pay online via credit card or request that Excella invoice you if you have an existing billing arrangement with Excella.
This one-day class will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center, 1872 Pratt Drive, Suite 1050, Blacksburg, Virginia 24060. Free parking is available on-site. Excella Consulting will provide light breakfast and lunch.
Students submitting cancellation requests 10 business days or more prior to the start of the course are entitled to a full refund. Students submitting cancellation requests less than 10 business days prior to the start of the course will be issued credit toward a future Excella training course. The credit will be equal to the amount paid for the initial course less any applicable fees. Should the organizer cancel the course for any reason, each registered students will be refunded 100% of the registration cost they paid.
