This event is an introduction to prescribed fire to educate landowners on the safe and effective use of fire as a land management tool. Topics that will be covered include fire ecology, using fire to maintain wildlife habitat, writing a prescribed burn plan, liability, personal protective equipment and tools. Safety while using fire will be a top priority. People that own larger properties (over 40 acres) that are interested in using fire as a management tool to support wildlife habitat are encouraged to attend. Event is sponsored by Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Arkansas Forestry Association, National Weather Service, Arkansas Agriculture Department-Forestry Division, Quail Forever and US Fish and Wildlife Service.
