Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Using a participatory approach, the workshop will explore attitudes to ageing and hidden forms of age discrimination. The informative and interactive sessions will include perceptions of ageing using visual aids, the reality of ageing and subjects considered by some as taboo, such as sex and dementia. There will also be an opportunity for people to sign-up to wear the Centre for Ageing Studies Age-Suit, which offers the wearer the opportunity to 'walk in the shoes' of an older person, to understand how age and disability can make you feel. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing older people and how these impact on our day to day work.
