The population of the UK is ageing which offers both opportunities and challenges to the museum and gallery sector. Older people are key stakeholders as visitors, staff, volunteers, members, donors and trustees. Engaging with older people is critical to future success.
This session will provide a clearer understanding of the demographic changes and the nature of today’s older generations. You will enjoy a practical session where you can step into the shoes of people in later life and explore how to engage of older people through innovative Age Confident policy and practice.
Jane Barmer and Judith Wardell are co-founders of Kingswood Age Confident; a training and consultancy company that support organisations to engage with older people as customers, employees and volunteers. Until recently, Jane has worked for Age UK delivering UK and EU initiatives that influence later working life policy and age management practices. Judith brings over 25 experience as a HR professional and a track record of delivering leadership training and diversity initiatives.
