About this event

Community • Heritage

Designed by Japanese Pritzker Prize-winning architect, Fumihiko Maki, the Aga Khan Centre is designed to represent the values of openness, dialogue and respect for pluralism. The architecture incorporates a collection of gardens, courtyards and terraces that provide an insight into the diversity and influence of Islamic landscape design around the world and through history.

Tours of the Aga Khan Centre are available most Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with select other dates.

Frequently asked questions

Is the building accessible?

There is wheelchair access to all floors as well as accessible toilets. The only barrier is the doors into the garden which are not automatic, but can be held open by the tour guide. For other accessibility needs, please get in touch and we can offer more information.

Are children allowed?

These tours are aimed at adult visitors. We appreciate, however, that there may be families visiting London without access to childcare. If you choose to bring children with you, please ensure they are closely supervised at all times and are not disruptive to our volunteer guides or other guests.

My ticket isn't loading. Will I be let on the tour?

We generate a list of those booked on the tour which is left with reception. We do recommend that guests bring a copy of their tickets printed or on a device just in case, however if you're encountering technical problems with your tickets your name should still be on our guestlist.

Why isn't it showing me upcoming tours?

Our tours are very popular and often book up over a month in advance. If you are only visiting London for a short period of time during which tours are fully booked, please contact us at least a week before your visit and we may be able to make space for you on an upcoming tour.
