Description

In conjunction with the Illinois Secretary of State, The Honorable Jesse White & The Aga Khan Council for the Midwestern United States, we welcome you to the Opening Reception of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.

The Aga Khan Award for Architecture was established 40 years ago, and aims to utilizes architecture and built environment as a platform for connecting past and present; managing cultural needs with modern technology; environmental stewardship and sustainability and improving quality of life of people. It also highlights the diversity of Muslim societies and the needs and aspirations of all people. The Award aims to bring people together in discussion and dialogue and builds bridges of understanding between diverse communities utilizing architecture as a tool. This year's winners are from China, Bangladesh, Denmark, Iran and Lebanon and include 2 women architects.


Event Details:

The Opening Reception for the Exhibition will take place December 18, 2017 from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM and will be hosted by the Illinois Secretary of State, The Honorable Jesse White.

The Exhibition will also be available for viewing December 19 - December 21, 2017 everyday from 8:30 am - 4:00 PM.
