Event description

Description

Hello!

We're thrilled that best-selling author Lisa See will join us for an intimate OneSky event on Saturday, November 3rd in South Pasadena. Your donation of $288 - $8,888 will change the lives of the children we serve.

Space is limited! Your donation and RSVP ensures your space. Please be sure to RSVP by clicking the TICKETS button or directly sending your RSVP to me at heather@onesky.org (and bring your donation to the event). To learn more about OneSky before the event, please watch our 20th Anniversary video: https://onesky.org/onesky-turns-20/

Lisa will be talking about her writing and research process behind her latest novel, The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane. A main storyline of the novel follows a baby girl born in rural China who is adopted by a family in the Los Angeles area. It's simply a beautiful book. (Lisa will also be available to sign your personal copy of her book if you bring it along to the event!)

The event is hosted by some of OneSky's most committed supporters, Lisa and Brad Freer, at their private home in South Pasadena. Of course, we'll be serving tea and Chinese food -- good food, good conversation, and a great cause. There will be a presentation and discussion on OneSky's work, as well.

We look forward to seeing you in South Pasadena on Saturday, November 3rd! Thank you for your generous donation.

Best,

Heather

FAQs

Can kids come?

Kids/teens/tweens of all ages are welcome! (But fur babies should be left at home!)

What should I bring into the event?

Please bring your open heart, big smile and donation to OneSky (either online or by check)!

Do I need a printed ticket? How do I RSVP for myself and/or family or friends?

You do not need a printed ticket, but we do need to know how many people are coming as space is limited. To RSVP, please click on the GREEN TICKETS box above or HERE. When you RSVP online, you will be prompted to make a donation to OneSky. If you'd prefer to bring a check to the event (and not donate online), please send an RSVP email to heather@onesky.org and hand-deliver a check.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Heather Mayes Gleason, Director of Philanthropy at OneSky, can be reached at heather@onesky.org or 301-580-7639 (text or call).

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Absolutely. Things come up. If your neighbor/sister/son/mother/brother want to come in your place, please feel free to send them!

What if I cannot make the event but I want to support OneSky?

You can always make a donation here. Or contact Heather directly, per above.

Can I visit a OneSky site in China?

The orphanages are government-run, and we cannot admit visitors. We do offer an opportunity for some donors to visit our China Care Home for medically fragile babies in Beijing. Contact Heather for more information.

Can I donate to OneSky through a private foundation or corporate donation?

Absolutely! All of OneSky's programs are supported through donations from individuals, foundations and corporations. Please contact Heather if you'd like to further discuss foundation or corporate giving.

Can OneSky come talk to my school / office / organization?

We'll do our best! Let us know where you're organization is and when you'd want us.
