After-School Wearable Art with Ms. Brown is open to students in K-3rd grade who have an interest in being creative!
After-School Wearable Art with Ms. Brown meets Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., October 13th - December 8th, 2016. There will be no class on Thursday, October 20th due to Ms. Brown chaperoning the Big South Fork trip, Thursday, October 27th due to school not being in session and Thursday, November 24th due to Thanksgiving.
In this six-week class, students will design and make wearable art objects — from handmade beads and jewelry to crazy masks and hats! We will begin by discussing examples of wearable art from a variety of cultures, then create our own. We’ll use a variety of media including fabric, found objects, papier mache, yarn, buttons, sequins, and other embellishments to create objects that could be functional, decorative - or both!
1. What if I need additional childcare after 4:30 p.m.?
If you need additional childcare after 4:30 p.m. our Enrichment program will be available at a pro-rated rate of $10 per day. This program is available until 5:30 p.m. Students may ride the Activity Bus for $6 per day. Daily drop-in services like Enrichment and the Activity Bus should be communicated and coordinated through your lead teacher.
2. Will there be make-up days if there is a snow day?
Typically we don't offer a make-up day to offset a snow day. If there is to be a make-up day, that would be at the sole discretion of Ms. Brown.
