Come see the teens in After School Matters' Musical Theater Experience perform Ragtime by Stephen Flaherty and Terrance McNally, based on the novel by E.L Doctorow. The musical follows the story of three families in turn-of-the-century America as they confront the racial and social prejudices of the time. Through the eyes of the immigrant struggle after traveling through Ellis Island, African Americans rebelling against overwhelming aggresion, and residents of the wealthy town of New Rochelle, this musical explores what it meant to live in America and how it shaped our country.
This show contains mature situations and language. It deals with racial and social prejudices at the turn of the last century
It has been rated PG. Please consider that when small children come to the performance.
