The Louisville Fencing Center’s goal is to develop and promote the whole person, through competitive and recreational fencing, bringing out the best in our athletes through world-class coaching, hard work, and a strong community spirit, focusing on comradery and sportsmanship.
This class is designed just for beginners to provide a solid introduction to the sport of fencing, whether you are participating for fun or to become a future Olympian. Students learn the fundamentals of fencing through drills and practice bouts. Fencing terminology is used and students are introduced to the rules of fencing in a competition.
The program includes class time, a LFC uniform t-shirt, practice pants, a fencing glove, and a non-competitive membership into the United States Fencing Association. The Louisville Fencing Center will provide the remaining equipment and safety gear; jacket, mask, and weapon. You will be required to fill out additional forms which will be sent to you upon registration.
