Since bursting onto the global scene with his 2022 crossover anthem “Afro Magic”, 24 year old Praie Kusi has been at the forefront of a whole new generation of Ghanaian musical talent whose influence now resonates around the world. Today, Praise Kusi officially announces his 2022 North American "Black Melanin" Tour dates produced by Praise Records (USA). The 10-date run will see stops including two performances at Wakanda Music Festival and shows in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, and more. The tour kicks off on April 30 , in Phoenix , AZ and runs through early Winter and continuing up at Wakanda Music Festival on July 9-10, marking a momentous return to the stage for the artist whom Fans called “the most exciting Afrobeat crossover artist in years.” On sale this Saturday, April 30, 2022 on Here for Tickets
The tour announcement follows Praise Kusi's most recent single and video, “Afro magic” released last April Produced by NINEZ, another of Nigeria's young breakout Producers, “Afro Magic” is a joyful celebration of Praise Kusi's African heritage and a personal ode to the continent, full of his trademark messages of love and loyalty, accompanied by a video co-directed by 35MM Films (New York) that finds his crew and a host of inspiring local faces partying against a stunning Colors, Fashion and Style.
“Afro Magic” is just the latest musical statement from an artist that has reshaped, modernized and revitalized Afrobeat, bringing it to a whole new audience. It comes on the back of an incredible few years for the Ghanaian-born artist, who made history in 2022 by becoming the first youngest ever artist to win the Best Album (Black Melanin), Best Male ACT in the 2022 Ghana Music Awards (USA).
