The 4th Annual African Union Expo 2018 will be held in New York City on Friday, December 14, 2018 in partnership with Go Africa Network, Inc., CUNY’s Graduate Center for Worker Education, NYS African Chamber of Commerce, Go Africa Capital LLC, Go Caribbean Inc, and Souare Solutions!

The African Union Expo 2018 seeks to reinforce economic opportunities, promote trade, investments, and equip entrepreneurs and small businesses within the communities of African, Caribbean, Latino, and other minorities across the greater New York area (and nationally) to foster connections and ease business opportunities in Africa.

This year’s Expo is focused on helping the small entrepreneurs, companies, startups, independent artists, general contractors, performers and (in short) anyone who is looking to improve their business operations & long-term success.

The African Union Expo 2018 will focus on the following themes:

  • Expanding Your Business Through Online Platform
  • Best Practices for Business Management & Operations
  • Access to Business Loans & Investments

Our 1-day Expo will feature guest speakers and presenters leading informative breakout sessions throughout the day. These session topics will include the following:

  • Reaching Your Clients through Google: This session will feature Google’s small business trainer providing insight for small businesses and entrepreneurs on how to leverage Google’s unique tools and resources to reaching more customers. **Sponsored by Google’s Get Your Business Online**
  • Journey to Growth: Hear from some of the budding entrepreneurs and business leaders as they share their experiences in launching their ventures.
  • Growing Your Business through Government Contracting: Business Development experts from Federal, State, and City will discuss opportunities where companies owned by women and minorities can sell their products and services to government buyers.
  • Understanding the Importance of Business Planning: Join this workshop to learn the nuts & bolts of developing a blueprint to launching and running a successful business!
  • Alternative Financing through Microloans & Crowdfunding: Learn about the requirements of securing funding through non-traditional funding sources.
  • Taking your Business to the Global Marketplace: Learn the steps to selling your services in foreign markets and the procedures for international transactions.
  • Getting your Business Online: Learn how you can take advantage of online platforms from websites, social mediums, and other internet activities to maximize your customer reach.
  • Go Africa Marketplace: Participate to learn the process of activating a vendor profile on this newly launched online marketplace.

The African Union Expo 2018 will also feature Resource Exhibitors providing information on health care, social services, financial services, and small business technical supports, and more.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

ID is required. Age is 16 and over.

What are my transportation options getting to and from the event?

Local NYC Transit (Subways & Busses) are short walking distance from the venue.

Subway Lines: Take 4 or 5 to Bowling Green Station. OR Take 1, 2, 3 to Wall Street Station. OR Take any 2,3,4,5, A, C, J, Z & R to Fulton Street Station.

What are my parking options for getting to and from the event?

We strongly recommend using public transportation. Parking garages are in the surrounding area with different cost.
