African Djembe Drumming Course


The Munroe Center for the Arts

with Alan Tauber, Instructor, Drummer, Educator

Come learn and play the rhythms and drum sounds from West African countries in these 8-week Hand-Drumming Sessions with Alan Tauber, Instructor.

Intermediate and Beyond Drummers Level. While these class will be mostly comprised of drummers who have some playing experience, anyone is welcome. You’ll fit right in. There is always a part to play! We expect the playing level to be what or former Wednesday Class was except on Thursdays now.

Focus is on Authentic and good technique, African playing styles suited for the djembe drum and the African Bass Drums called dunun.

Registration is required. Please consider joining us Thursdays in Lexington! Awesome, comfortable space for us. Registration is required. Fun is essential!

Alan teaches at multi-levels so everyone has challenges and successes. You are not too beginner for this class and you are not too advanced in drumming for this class, as well. Just show UP!

A drum is also required. A few rentals djembe are available for the semester at $75.- (take 'em home and practice). Reserve a rental by calling DrumConnection 781-316-8068

• Doors will only open 15 minutes before class time.

Note: Pre-registration is required for our classes and workshops -- No walk-ins, please. Classes may be canceled due to low enrollment, so if you want to attend this event, don't wait to sign up! Other workshops and classes SELL OUT and have limited registrations available.
