Featured artist: Grammy nominated Zydeco musician artist André Thierry! Come and hear the tradition of Zydeco, touched with funk, soul and blues that will make you want to move your feet!

Performances from around the world, by all people, that highlight the common heritage & gifts of African American, African, Afro-Latino, Afro-Caribbean & other peoples connected to Africa. Booths: International foods, arts & crafts, other vendors and community groups.

Booth costs are free to $30! (See the Promotional and Vending Opportunites section below.)

Performances from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

High-level performers and get a free booth and free airplay to promote their CDs!

Please come and do a performance to show your talent and/or promote your organization!

All levels of talent are welcome!

Sing-off & Spoken-word competitions – for just $15 you could win a $100 prize!

(10 person max/event so hurry and sign-up online! Only “clean” lyrics, please.)

Break out the bones (dominoes), bring a chair and come ready to dance and have fun in community! The public is invited and welcome!

Promotional and Vending Opportunities

This event will be a great opportunity for your organization, your church or simply yourself to earn or raise funds and/or promote activities or a business!

Benefits of getting a booth

  • Booths are only $30.00 for approved profit making activities (and if you perform, only $20.00!). For approved non-profit organizations, if all of your revenue goes to a charitable cause (minus reimbursements), you can have a booth for free!

  • For approved for-profit and non-profit vendors, at your booth, you or your organization can sell food, arts & crafts, promote a business, distribute useful information, educate to recruit members, promote a cause, educate consumers or constituents, etc.

  • Note: 1) The BCM will be the exclusive vendor of sodas and water. Other vendors can sell non-carbonated, flavored ethnic drinks! 2) The BCM will sell popcorn, hotdogs, hotlinks, and simple nachos.

Please sign-up early because we want to minimize duplication of sale items to give vendors a great venue to sell their products!

Ideas for things that you or organization can sell or present at a booth:

  • Foods: ethnic foods, cakes, pies, BBQ, etc.

  • Arts and crafts

  • Tickets to upcoming events

  • Your own business goods or services (Tupperware, cosmetics, licensed contractor services, dance instruction…)

  • Used CDs and books that are in good condition and not generally considered offensive

Show your talent that has a connection to Africa! (If it is not obvious, you can educate the audience.)

  • Share a performance by your performing arts studio or group to promote you or your group. You can sell CDs, pass out fliers and share with your potential customers. If you need more time, and if you perform, you can get a booth at a 33% discount!

  • Come out and have fun in the sing-off and spoken-word competitions! For $15 you could win $100!

  • Bless us with your talent as a non-competitor. - bands, choirs, solo performances, singers, & others. Booths at a 33% discount to promote yourself!

Have a high-quality fashion show with music and receive a 33% performer discount!

  • There are many very beautiful ethnic and general clothing items that you and your friends may want share with others. The BCM will host a fashion show for you! The sales from your show could benefit you personally or your organization. Come out and show your style and raise some funds for your next fashion statement or cause!
