Event Details

Join Diversity Restoration Solutions, Inc. (DRS) and the Africa Homecoming Network™ for the Africa Homecoming Pilgrimage Tourism & Trade Conference on August 1-2, 2018, at the Newport News Marriott City Center in Newport News, VirginiaDRS will be hosting a special delegation from the country of Zambia, including the 2019 Zambia National Homecoming Committee and representatives from the Office of the President and Vice President for a tourism and trade conference.

Zambia has been designated as the official Africa Homecoming destination for DRS' Restoration Center.  DRS' mission is to conduct Homecomings and project development activities in the United States and Africa to reconnect families and communities previously separated by the institutions of slavery for mutually beneficial social-economic restoration.

In 2019, DRS is planning the 400-year Africa Homecoming Pilgrimage to Zambia, including multiple investment and business opportunities associated with developing a joint trade and tourism industry sector between the Underground Railroad designated site at The Great Dismal Swamp & Canal and Barotseland in the Western Province of Zambia beyond 2019.

The DRS Homecoming Network in the USA and the Zambia National Homecoming Committee have developed a database of projects that require strategic partnerships between American and Zambian businesses. A partial list of investment and business opportunities identified include tourism & travel, education, finance, healthcare, construction, media & entertainment, transportation, security, hospitality and many more.   DRS has also secured land to build Restoration Center in Zambia as a major tourism attraction marketed globally to facilitate art and history exhibits, trade meetings & conferences, executive office suites and cultural center.

Conference registration is $150.00/person, which includes attending the opening session on August 1, and choice of one (1) designated industry break-out session on August 1 or 2.  You may attend other breakout sessions depending on space availability.  Registration also includes attending the Africa Homecoming Pilgrimage Awards Dinner on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Marriott City Center.   Additional registrations from the same business will get a reduced registration rate of $100.00/person, which includes one (1) admission to the Awards Dinner.

All conference participants will be listed in an electronic souvenir journal which will include a business name, contact person, website address and/or email.  Additional registrants names will be listed along with the first registrant's business or organization name.  The journal will be delivered after the conference to the Zambia delegation, conference participants, Africa Homecoming Network members, and other international organizations affiliated with the Africa Homecoming Network worldwide.

DRS is committed to utilizing USA products and services in our Africa development projects when practical and appropriate. DRS developed a unique and unprecedented process to network families, community groups and businesses to maximize our potential in securing economic stability for multiple generations.  We welcome the attendance of families, faith-based groups, community organizations and businesses to merge tourism and trade opportunities, that create jobs domestically and globally.  For information on the conference or awards dinner, please contact Lisa Sheppard, Events Coordinator, at (757) 926-5233.
