Description
Honor The Ancestors!
The first weekend of August 2019 will be a historic time in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina. Diversity Restoration Solutions, Inc. (DRS) and the Homecoming Network™ will host the Africa Homecoming Community Expo on August 3, 2019, to honor all of our Ancestors during the 400th anniversary commemoration of the transatlantic slave trade starting in the British ruled Virginia colony (1619-2019).
The Africa Homecoming Community Expo will also be a day to support local vendors and exhibitors from the Hampton Roads area and beyond as part of cooperative economics mission in the Africa American community, as our Ancestors did years ago. In addition, we will acknowledge the contributions and struggles of those whose shoulders we stand on through dance, song, spoken word, African fashion show, food and fun! Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the Convention Center concession stand.
The highlight of the Expo is a keynote address by the Ambassdor from Republic of Zambia Embassy in Washington, D.C. , who will welcome African Americans back home to Africa during this 400th anniversary commemoration year of return and beyond.
If you have family roots in North Carolina, Virginia or any place that had chattel slavery in the United States or just want to honor the legacy of those who came before us, you don't want to miss this important event to honor the Ancestors!
