AFP AR: Keystone XL Rally in Cushing
Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (CDT)
President Obama will be making a photo-op stop in Cushing, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 22 at 9:30 a.m. Interestingly enough this happens to be the "pipeline crossroads of the world" and, as we're sure you remember, the Keystone Pipeline (Keystone XL) would've been a big deal for jobs and businesses in Cushing and here at home in Arkansas.
Unfortunately for us, though, the pipeline was made into a political game and, as Senator Mark Pryor said recently, probably won't be approved until after the election. The President promised to fight for the middle class, but he stood directly in the way of a project that would create thousands of American jobs.
Now AFP-Arkansas is asking people to join us as we head to Cushign, OK to let the President know how we view his decision on Keystone XL. The details are below. We hope to see you there!
When: Thursday, March 22, 2012
Where: 2 buses will leave from AFP-Arkansas HQ (1800 S. 52nd in Rogers, AR) at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.
More Information: There are 100 seats that we'd like to fill to let President Obama know that Arkansas remembers his job killing actions that held up Keystone XL until after this year's election.
Breakfast, Lunch, and t-shirts will be available to those that are able to join us.
If you would like to travel to Cushing on your own the address for the event is 1402 North Little Street (Fechner Pump and Supply).
