Join us for our Annual Stakeholder meeting to learn about how we can support your heritage sites and help us craft our new National Heritage Area. Tour and discover Mineral County heritage sites.

9am to 12pm - Mineral County Heritage Site Tours - Join Mineral County Docents for tours of three different and unique heritage sites. You are welcome to proceed site to site, or swing by at the expected time for the tour of your choice. Directions Here

  1. 9 AM Ashby’s Fort, Fort Ashby, WV - Visit the site of a French and Indian War era Fort.

  2. 10 Am Travelers Rest - Burlington, WV-19th century Inn along Route 50

  3. 11 AM WVU Potomac State College Maple Farm- Keyser, WV A working Maple Farm with fresh syrup to be had!

12:00 pm Lunch and AFNHA Membership Meeting -During lunch join us for our annual membership meeting. You are a member! AFNHA will provide a lunch for its guests at the conference site at WVU Potomac State College. Vegetarian Options are available, however, special dietary needs may not be able to be met.

1:00 Mineral County Panel Presentation - Local leaders will discuss the state of Mineral County heritage tourism.

2:00 AFNHA AmeriCorps Presentations- Learn about the ways the AFNHA AmeriCorps members are serving the needs of our forest heritage partners, including: conservation, historic preservation, community & heritage development .

3:00 AFNHA NHA Management Planning Public Meeting - Join us in the next exciting steps as we transition to a National Heritage Area. Learn about AFNHA, what we’ve done, what national designation means, and most importantly, how we will function moving forward. Share your ideas with us to form the new NHA!
