Aficionado Film Festival
The Aficionado Film Festival wants to challenge filmmakers to make a difference in the cinema by providing the filmmaking industry with the newest thought provoking and riveting storylines and characters from talented artists around the country. AFF is a platform where the talent men and women in the industry can congregate to celebrate and share moving material that seduces out of us the very emotions we as writers crave to influence audiences with. Our goal is for AFF to make a difference in indie film by posturing ourselves in the film festival circuit as a source of emotional, dramatic, risqué, dark humor infused narrative films, and films that at times break boundaries with reasonable socially necessary political incorrectness. What do we mean by “boundary breaking socially necessary political incorrectness” it means making movies that have/are intent on going against the grain solely to bring attention to current events, social dynamics, injustices, political topics, and raising awareness in all forms and genres. Aficionado celebrates filmmakers being purposefully provocative!
The Aficionado Film Festival is a three (3) day social and artistic event that is constructed as an environment intent on nurturing artistic expressions in film and television that includes: providing interesting and unique workshops that teach new techniques and needed filmmaking knowledge to new filmmakers and seasoned filmmakers alike, supporting intercultural dialogue between artists and audiences, working to progress the impact of artists and their networks in society, and introducing new audiences to their works. AFF will also offer its audiences in depth exclusivity to interactively explore insiders knowledge of the industry alongside cinematographers, producers, screenwriters, directors, television executives, inspirational genre filmmakers, and music composers.
At our three (3) day high social event teleplay writer and screenwriters will have the opportunity to pitch their most prized work to film and television executives in our Pitch Meeting, you will also get the chance to rub elbows with those in your field at our opening night Meet & Greet and get to participate in our one-of-a-kind network system called the Makers & Shakers Table: where those in attendance will be able to promote their work in our Attendee Cards which they will fill out with their name, field position, state that they operate out of, and three examples of their work. These cards will placed on the Makers & Shakers Table where other filmmakers in attendance can look in fellow Attendees’ Cards and if they feel that they may need your service (for example as a Cinematographer or Screenwriter) they will then write their phone number in your card and by the end of the night your Makers & Shakers Card will have made multiple contacts for you!
