Affordable Housing Tour 2012
Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM (PDT)
San Jose, CA
Affordable Housing in Santa Clara County
Silicon Valley Leadership Group invites County stakeholders, leaders, and residents to come together for this half-day tour to showcase affordable housing
With the recent elimination of redevelopment agencies, funding for affordable housing is even more challenging. Combine that with the common and understandable distrust of the change associated with new development and the future does not look good for affordable homes. Meanwhile, rents increase and the need for affordable homes persists.
The purpose of this tour is to help community members understand how to build new homes for those in need while enhancing existing neighborhoods. Learn what 40 homes to the acre looks like, the difference between surface and subterranean parking and how quality design is key element to creating great new communities.

Then join us in the fall to tour the affordable housing communities of neighboring cities who also strive to create vibrant and livable options for working families and individuals.
