About this event
With the current poverty crisis and the long term social, economic and environmental impacts brought about by lockdown and the pandemic, the importance of a supply of stable, high quality affordable homes has never been more important for our environmental, physical and economic wellbeing. The current shortage of affordable homes, for which estimates vary vastly but, is in the hundreds of thousands has impacts on poverty levels, child poverty homelessness, barriers to investment and more.
The Scottish Government has set a targt of the delivery of 110,000 by 2032, with an investment of £3.5 billion in this parliament to push towards this long term goal. This event will explore what innovtions and strategies will be needed to make sure that this and, future, investments can deliver these much needed homes and create a fairer, healthier, wealthier Scotland.
