The aim of the ADD-ON workshop is to bring together local and foreign scientists, industry and government representatives, stake holders, policy makers, and students to finalize common scientific and societal goals for a full ICDP drilling proposal to be submitted in January 2024.
ADD-ON Workshop - Addis Ababa - 28-31 Aug 2023
This workshop will take place as an in-presence event from 28.08.2023 until 31.08.2023 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Registration and and ice-breaker will be on the 28 Aug, followed by 2 days (29 and 30 Aug) of combined presentations from various scientists and stakeholders active in the Afar and Dallol regions, and relevant discussions to fine tune the full ICDP drilling proposal. The final day (31 Aug) will be a workshop field trip.
Participants from different disciplines are welcome to register to attend. The scientific committee will make decisions on attendance and travel support (fully or partially) taking into account the relevance of the applicants’ research to the goals of the workshop, the workshop budget, and the need for balanced disciplines. Preference will be given to participants from ICDP member countries. Early career scientists are encouraged to apply.
