Event description

Description

This year, our Fall CE will held at our Oakdale clinic and will be separated into three days. On November 4th, 2017, we will have the Technician Track. On November 11th, 2017, we will have the Practice Manager Track. On November 12th, 2017, we will have the Veterinarian Track. Each track will have four speakers. Six CE credits are currently pending (per track) with the MN Board of Veterinary Medicine (also good in Wisconsin). A continental breakfast and lunch are also provided.

Attendees are welcome to register for multiple tracks. We encourage you to register right away! Since seats are limited, we cannot accept walk-in registrations on the day of the event.

Technician Track lectures are as follows:

CSI Dermatology: Investigating the Itch by Lisa Gerads, CVT, Dermatology Service, AERC Learn the causes of pruritus (allergies, parasitic, endocrine), importance of derm history-taking and PE findings, identifying underlying causes of pruritus, diagnostic tests and treatment options.

From Team Member to Team Leader by Stephanie Brozo, CVT, and Martha Ruprecht, CVT, AERC Team Leads Sometimes, moving from team member to team leader can feel more like a punishment than a promotion! Learn how to: embrace your new leadership role, set expectations, manage your friends, help your team feel valuable and engaged, encourage contributions without being "wishy-washy," and what to do when people question your leadership.

Less is More: Crash Cart Basics by Cherie Dilts, CVT This session will provide an overview of creating, stocking, and maintaining a user-friendly crash cart for your practice. We'll go over cart selection, necessities, and organization.

Shake, Rattle, and Roll: Management of the Seizure Patient by Nadia Dukic, CVT, Neurology Service, AERC We will provide a general overview of the seizure patient, including the importance of taking an accurate history from the owner, different forms of seizure activity, the work-up of the seizure patient, and the most common anti-seizure medications that are prescribed.
