Description

At the conclusion of the Workshop, you will;

Have an understanding of the legal and ethical requirements when working with children.

Have an awareness of the legislation, regulations, regulatory frameworks and service requirements when working with children.

Demonstrate a knowledge of the educators Duty of Care, and ethical considerations.

Have an understanding of your obligations to respond to concerns relating to the risk of harm to children.

Have an awareness of the types of abuse and the indicators of abuse.

Have an awareness of the triggers of abuse and consequences of abuse.

Demonstrate a knowledge of mandatory reporting requirements in your state.

Have an understanding of disclosure and how to respond to disclosure.

Demonstrate an ability to document concerns appropriately, and the reporting procedure.

Advocate for the health, safety, social and emotional wellbeing of the child.

Show an ability to advocate for the rights of the child.

Understand the importance or working with other agencies and professionals.

Demonstrate an awareness of Children’s Rights.
