Description

Advocacy for Justice in Today's World is a workshop for everyone who wants to learn how to advocate effectively for whatever issues touch their hearts.

The morning will include Director of the Lutheran Office of Public Policy-WI Pastor Cindy Crane speaking about the roots of advocacy and State Representative Katrina Shankland presenting Civic Engagement 101 - basic training in the nuts and bolts of how to do advocacy. Director for Justice for the Women of the ELCA Jennifer Deleon will address immigration issues. After lunch, participants will meet by topics such as poverty and hunger, domestic violence, gun violence, human trafficking, and immigration. By the time participants leave they will have the skills needed to advocate effectively and will have made connections with others who care about the same issues as they do.

This event is free and open to the public. Lunch is included. A free will offering will be taken to cover expenses. It is not necessary to bring a printed ticket.
