Description

Advocacy: Finding Your Voice in Noisy Times is a special, free of charge series of workshops for those who wish to speak out and take action, co-hosted by Union Theological Seminary and the Office of Government Relations at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Are you a non-profit professional, educator, religious leader, psychologist, artist, or health professional who wants to get more involved in the democratic process?

If so, join us to participate in workshops facilitated by experts in the field. You will learn and take action to:

-Run for office

-Organize a movement

-Find your voice (using words when necessary)

-Use social media to speak out

-Practice embodied politics

-Write an op/ed

Keynote speaker, food and networking too! You'll get to participate in two workshops.

Program:

9:30am-10am: Keynote speaker
10:15am-11:30am: Session 1 Workshops
11:45am-1pm: Session 2 Workshops
1:15pm-3pm: Networking and a chance to demonstrate your advocacy/"show what you know"
