LE ADVERSE LIGHT SHOOTING WITH HANDGUN
A study of police shooting done on a yearly basis tells us that approx 60% of these entire shooting take places during nighttime hours on a consistent basis. In contrast to the typical brightly lit range, more than two out of three fatal officer shootings occur during the hours of darkness or in locations where the light is very dim. Outside you may have the light of the stars or the moon, or a street lamp a block away. The light may be so poor that you won’t be able to see the sights on your weapon when you need to return fire, as well poor vision of the subject. When the light dims the problems begin. These problems generally include: navigation, threat location, threat identification and engagement the threat.
At ISI Training Center Adverse Light Shooting course, you will have the opportunity to learn and practice various techniques using flashlights and other light sources. These techniques will enable law enforcement officers to shoot a handgun under low light, adverse light and no light conditions.
