Description

Adventures in Mixed Media

For students ages 8 years and up

$60 + $15 Supply fee

Saturday, February 4 and 11, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Using many techniques to create surface designs in various papers; some of these techniques are mono printing, gelly plate printing, other printing types, stamping, stencils, and other texturing methods. We will be using mostly acrylic paint both in tubes and fluid acrylics, acrylic inks, dyes, markers etc. After we have fashioned our papers, we will use them to create paintings on both canvas and paper or matt board.

If time permits, we will also use our papers to create many other items such as greeting cards, envelopes, small boxes, book markers, gift bags and other fun things.

Please bring a 12” x 12” canvas to class.

Students are encouraged to bring any materials that might already have, such as:

  1. Various papers including brown paper bags, copy paper (even paper that has been printed on), water color paper, card stock; basically, whatever you have even painting you don’t like or want any more. Some papers will be available.
  2. Any acrylic or water based paints or inks that you have.
  3. Scissors, markers, pencils, rulers, compass, glitter.

Classes – What Goes and What Doesn’t: Please register early- don’t procrastinate! Pre-registration is required for Art School classes; classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students will be registered ONLY on receipt of payment. Enrollment is limited in most classes to twelve students-some have a smaller limit due to space or equipment limitations – so register early to be assured of a space. We also need to know that we have enough students in a class to meet minimum enrollment (usually 3 students in classes and workshops.) If you put off registering for a class or workshop, it may be cancelled due to low enrollment. Classes with low enrollment are cancelled 48 hours before the class is scheduled to begin.

Refunds and Cancellation Policies: We must maintain a minimum enrollment in order to sustain a class or workshop. This minimum is usually 3 students. If we do not have minimum registration, we must cancel the class, whereupon a full refund will be issued.
