Jeremy Smith is a writer specializing in environment, tourism and sustainable business. He is the founder of Fair Game, the only website dedicated to supporting safari’s efforts to address the poaching crisis threatening much of our most endangered wildlife.
Formerly editor of The Ecologist, he co-wrote (with Richard Hammond of Greentraveller) Clean Breaks - 500 New Ways to See the World, Rough Guides' only guidebook dedicated to responsible tourism and winner of Planeta's best guidebook for 2009. He's also a communication strategist who provides branding and communication services for clients in the responsible tourism and environmental sphere
Catherine Mack is a freelance travel writer specialising in responsible travel. She was the winner of the Virgin Holidays Best Travel Writer in Responsible Tourism Award 2011, has written for The Daily Telegraph, The Independent, The Guardian, The Observer, Metro and is a travel columnist for National Geographical Traveller UK and The Green Parent magazine. She was a regular ‘Ethical Traveller’ columnist for The Irish Times for four years, and still writes regular destination features for them. She's the author of the Ireland Green Travel app by SutroMedia.
Catherine published her first guidebook in June 2008, Ecoescape:Ireland. Trips include weaving with the Berbers in Morocco, working with the Maasai in Kenya, walking across The Alps with a donkey, deep sea fishing off Ireland’s Mayo coast, swimming from island to island in Croatia, learning how to press olives in Crete, and sleeping in a tipi on Cape Clear Island off Ireland’s South West coast.
Justin Francis co-founded Responsible Travel, the world’s first and largest travel agent dedicated to green/responsible tourism in 2001. Prior to that he spent 10 years at J. Walter Thompson Advertising and was Head of Worldwide Marketing at The Body Shop.
Since 2004 Justin has organised and run the worlds’ most prestigious Award scheme for responsible holidays - the World Responsible Tourism Awards. In 2010 responsibletravel.com partnered with National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK to launch www.our-land.co.uk.
