Event description

Description

Whether to cultivate a relationship, build engagement, or practice coping skills, ADVENTURE THERAPY provides a range of opportunities to support processes of healing and change for clients in healing and treatment settings. Through the use of activities and intentionally-crafted experiences, participants are challenged to make connections, practice skills, and develop new patterns of thinking, feeling, and interacting. Meanwhile, a practitioner is able to observe, assess, and support in the moment, creating unique and valuable opportunities for direct intervention and guidance. Experiential by nature, adventure therapy promotes active engagement of both client and clinician, cultivating a deep, resilient, and unique therapeutic alliance to promote ongoing growth and progress.

This dynamic, experiential workshop will provide you with all the tools and information to begin integrating adventure into your clinical work with children, adults, couples, groups and families. In it, the facilitators, each experts in adventure therapy and practicing clinicians, will introduce the foundational principles of this approach through direct participation and guided processing, examining the components of each specialized intervention to inspire heightened engagement, deeper learning, and more meaningful growth no matter the setting of your work.

Continued Education credits available upon request for CMHC, LMFT, and licensed psychologists.
