Event description

Description

From 3-4:30, learn from from Emma Clippinger, Clinical Fellow at the Harvard Food Law & Policy Clinic, as she presents an interactive training for PFPC members, policymakers and community stakeholders. Presenting their toolkit titled Good Laws, Good Food: Putting Local Food Policy to Work for Our Communities, the training will review issues of our local food infrastructure, land use, consumer food access, school food, nutrition education, environmental sustainability and food waste. Attendees will gain knowledge of concrete ways local government can impact our local food system.

Afterward, join Pittsburgh Food Policy Council Members as we flip the bi-monthly meeting schedule for a networking happy hour! You’ll have a chance to meet our newly elected Steering Committee Members and learn more from our partners at Harvard Food Law & Policy Clinic. Join us as we celebrate our work advancing the future of just, equitable and sustainable food in our greater Pittsburgh region. Light refreshments provided. Cash Bar.

Please note, attendees are encouraged but not required to attend both the training (3-4:30pm) and happy hour (5-7:00pm).
