Location: 920 S. Valley Drive Las Cruces, NM 88005 (immediately following General Membership meeting)

Target Audience: Physicians, Registered Nurses, and EMS.

Learning Outcome:  Increase knowledge to help identify concussions in patients with suggestive but insufficient/indeterminate evidence.    

Upon completion of this live activity, the learner will be able to:  

  • Increase awareness of possible concussion in a patient with the not-so-obvious mechanism of injury.
  • Facilitate management of patients with possible concussions.

Physicians: BorderRAC is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

BorderRAC designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.

Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses: BorderRAC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association-Approver, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. BorderRAC awards 1.0 contact hours for this education activity. 

EMS: BorderRAC is recognized as a Texas Department of State Health Services provider of continuing education for EMS (Program Number 101792). BorderRAC designates this activity for 1.0 hours of continuing education.

In order to receive credit and certificate of successful completion for the program, you must arrive on time, sign-in on the attendance form, remain for the entire program, and complete an on-line evaluation.

BorderRAC is relied upon to unite regional medical providers and serve as a strategic partner for the Texas legislature, state and local agencies, and most importantly for the health and welfare of our region. BorderRAC is integral to helping hospitals and other healthcare organizations in emergency preparedness to respond to a wide-scale natural disaster or terrorism attack. BorderRAC is a healthcare coalition with a comprehensive interprofessional membership of hospitals, EMS, and other healthcare agencies and has expanded its role. BorderRAC committees work to reduce injury, illness and preventable deaths in the areas of trauma, stroke, heart disease, pediatrics, and neonates.

BorderRAC is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping residents of our region in the education and prevention of injury and disease and healthcare emergencies and disaster preparedness.
