This Advanced 5-day training will use real life projects and case studies to explain how project management processes can be applied to projects and affect project outcomes. Supplemental practice quizzes will be administered to help participants prepare for the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification examination. This training is organized around the 10 Project Management Knowledge Areas and Five Process Groups based on the text, A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)-Sixth Edition by the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. Upon successful completion of this training, students will have earned 35 hours of project management education (PDUs), which they can apply towards their Project Management Professional (PMP) ® exam requirements.

Participants must have attended our introductory 1-day Fundamentals of Project Management training or at least have a solid understanding of the 10 Project Management Knowledge Areas and Five Process Groups. Please note that this 5-day Advanced Project Management training is the final level in our training series, as it follows the Intermediate 3-day Applied Project Management training.

This Advanced Project Management training will be held for a total of five (5) consecutive weeks from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm each day on the following dates:

  • Thursday, September 13/18

  • Thursday, September 20/18

  • Thursday, September 27/18

  • Friday, October 05/18

  • Thursday, October 11/18

Course Materials:

Materials in this class are based on the text, A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)-Sixth Edition and each new student will receive a copy of this text, along with a binder containing additional course materials.

Attendees who already have a copy of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)-Sixth Edition can purchase a ticket that does not include a copy of the PMBOK, but does include the binder containing additional course materials.

All students are required to bring both the (PMBOK® Guide)-Sixth Edition and the binder provided to training.

About the Instructors:

Khaled El-Guindy (Guindy), MBA, PE, PMP, CCP; Engineer III with King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD)

Khaled El-Guindy (Guindy) has over 32 years of professional experience in construction project management and program management that extends over four countries. He currently is a project control engineer with the King County Wastewater Treatment Division. He also teaches several subjects at Renton Technical College and project management classes through the PMI Registered Education Provider program.

Zahid Khan, PE, PMP (King County R.E.P. Coordinator); PMO Manager, King County Solid Waste Division (SWD)

Zahid Khan has 23 years of organizational project management and leadership experience. As the Project Management Office (PMO) Manager, he developed processes, monitored and controlled projects; mentored and coached project managers. He led the planning and execution of major capital improvement projects and programs for various government agencies. Zahid has developed and taught numerous trainings through the PMI’s Registered Education Provider program for more than six years. He has presented and published project management papers at PMI Global Congresses, PMI Local Chapters, and American Public Works Association conferences.

Janielee Osborne, PMP; Information Technologies Project Manager (ITPM) with King County Sherriff’s Office

Janielee Osborne has over twenty years of combined professional experience in project management, business operations management and human resources. In addition to being a PMP, Janielee is a Certified Scrum Master and has completed the Business Analyst program at the University of Washington. Janielee is experienced at building diverse, peak-performing teams of managers, technical personnel, union workers and contractors and is an effective liaison between technical and non-technical teams. She recently finished implementing an enterprise wide IT application (connecting HR, Operations, Payroll, and Legal) for 1095 users at King County.
