Robert S. Thompson, RT, JD, MBA, LLM(DR), AIC, ARM, ARe, RPLU, CPCU serves as Director of Business Development at MMIC. He has a diversified background in law, medicine, medical professional liability insurance and healthcare risk management. He is a Radiology Technologist and practiced for nearly 10 years at several Georgia hospitals. Mr. Thompson is a U.S. Army combat veteran where he graduated first in his class from both the U.S. Army Radiology Technologist School and Avionics School.
Mr. Thompson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Summa Cum Laude from North Georgia College and State University, his Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law, a Master of Business Administration from Lincoln University and an LL.M.-Master of Laws in Dispute Resolution from the University of Missouri School of Law.
He holds the designations of Associate in Claims, Associate in Risk Management, Associate in Reinsurance, and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters/Insurance Institute of America. In addition, he holds the designation of Registered Professional Liability Underwriter from the Professional Liability Underwriting Society.
Mr. Thompson’s duties include development of business as part of the Kansas and Missouri team and building of agent and broker relationships. He specializes in marketing through the promotion of medical professional liability claims prevention and proactive risk management by providing educational seminars to physicians, hospital and medical practice administration and other healthcare professionals.
