Advanced Post Blast Investigations Course

In order to register for this course, you MUST have received a certificate from a previous Post Blast Certification Course.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Disposal Unit, in conjunction with the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education, is conducting an Advanced Post Blast Investigators course. This course is comprised of classroom participation as well as actual investigation of a post blast scene. Topics covered will include the latest techniques for collection of DNA evidence and trace explosives evidence, assessment of emerging threats, the medical examiner’s/coroner’s role in mass disasters, and the ATF’s role in post blast investigation. A Large Vehicle Bourne IED (LVBIED) that will contain various types of evidence will be used for field demonstrations and exercises. This course is designed for public safety officials who have previously attended a basic post blast investigators class.
