Event description

Advanced Physician Wellness (APW)
Apr 26, 2019 to Apr 28, 2019

Learn Effective & Sustainable Mind-Body Practices in one weekend

As healthcare providers work tirelessly to improve the wellness of their clients, APW invites all the healthcare providers to dedicate a weekend to their personal wellness – renew and recharge by using unique, high-yield and easy to master mind-body techniques.

The core of the retreat includes multiple practices that have been sourced from traditional, ancient Indian meditation systems because of their time-tested effectiveness, fast-acting results and the ability to master them quickly.

  • Pranayama and Yoga Nidra - techniques to use any time for a few minutes or longer for a quick recharge or to help relax or sleep.

  • SKY Breathing Meditation-- a powerful mind-body practice that utilizes the innate ability of the breath to trigger an automatic quieting of the mind to stillness, leading to a deep experience of meditation—whether you’ve never practiced meditation or have done it for years.

  • EDM (Effortless Deep Meditation) -- an automatic self-transcending practice that brings the stillness of deep meditation effortlessly, without watching or controlling the mind, even for beginners.

Research examining multiple biomarkers of stress indicates adding a combination of SKY and EDM creates rapid movement toward autonomic homeostasis and a physiological shift in the autonomic nervous system promoting the calming parasympathetic system in the body within the first two sessions.

The retreat includes:

  • Deep relaxation using simple Yoga stretches, SKY, EDM and other mind-body practices

  • Heightened clarity and more positive perspectives using evidence-based mind management positive psychology principles

  • Greater awareness and stress management using mindfulness-based principles

  • Improved sleep using special sleep meditation (Yoga Nidra)

  • Learning personal practice that can be easily practiced at home by the participants

  • 16 hours of CME, CNE, CEU
