Class: Advanced Handgun
Prerequisites: Intermediate Handgun
This one day, 12-hour class is designed to introduce the student to advanced handgun manipulation skills suitable for the armed citizen. This course will require a serviceable pistol chambered in 9mm, .40 S&W, .357 SIG, or .45 ACP. Sub caliber pistols are not recommended for successful completion of this course.
A holster suitable for all day wear is also required along with suitable hearing and eye protection and a hat with a bill/sun visor. Factory ammunition is required for all courses at Highland Firearms Training Consultants and 1,000 rounds of ammunition are required. No holsters requiring the pressing of a button to release the firearm from the holster is permitted. Jackets with drawstrings are not suitable for range use and are not permitted on the range.
Various concepts will be introduced to the student to include but not limited to: how to safely draw from concealment, shooting on the move, engaging high and low probability targets under time restraint while simulating stress. This course is specifically designed for the intermediate to advanced shooter and no time will be allotted to provide remedial training to those lacking the required skillset.
All intermediate and advanced handgun classes require that the student possess a concealed handgun license or be a certified peace officer. In lieu of a concealed handgun license or peace officer status, the student may sign an affidavit declaring that he/she has not been convicted of a felony in any State.
