Advanced Contract Essentials Workshop

This 3-hour, in-person seminar is a practical, scenario-based course for in-house lawyers looking to invest in enhancing their risk awareness around core essential contract clauses. In this course, we cover:

Contractual indemnities - what they actually do, when they’re worth fighting for, and how misused language (like “hold harmless”) can do more harm than good.
Consequential loss - how courts may interpret them, what’s routinely misunderstood, and why your exclusion of consequential loss clause might not be doing what you think it is.
Proportionate liability - what it is, when it kicks in, and how it's going to interact with your indemnity clause.
The Australian Consumer Law - potential rights that may be found under the ACL, even for large corporates and in B2B arrangements.
Competition law - where your contractual restraints and exclusivity clauses may start to raise red flags.

This interactive session will have you considering real-life drafting and scenarios based on past experience, and is designed to equip you with tools that you'll actually use when it comes to drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
