Advanced Camera: Hands-On with Sony FS7

In this class, students will learn the functions, layout and operation of the Sony FS7. They’ll then get real-world, hands-on experience by shooting a project out in the field. Each month, the class will focus on a different genre, from documentary to live music or narrative film.
This class certifies you as an Advanced Video Producer, which means you can reserve Open Signal’s Sony FS7 cameras for free, as well as submit videos to our cable channels.
Prerequisite: We recommend taking Canon C100 or having intermediate DSLR camera skills.
Open Signal is located off the #6 bus line. If you are driving to Open Signal we have a parking lot located on NE Graham. Our main entrance is located on the corner of NE Graham and NE MLK. For directions please call our main line at (503) 288-1515.
Open Signal workshops typically grant certification on the equipment and software taught in the course unless otherwise noted. Workshops participants must attend ALL workshop sessions in order to receive certification. No make-up sessions will be allowed except in cases of emergency. Participants must contact email@example.com to be considered for make-up sessions.
Arriving Late or Missing a Workshop
If you miss the first day or are more than 30 minutes late, you will lose your place in the workshop.
Cancellation Policies for Workshops
Workshops must meet the minimum enrollment requirement for the workshop to take place. If a workshop is cancelled due to lack of enrollment, students will be notified 24 hours in advance. Participants may apply their class credit to take another Open Signal workshop or can receive a full refund.
You may cancel up to 3 days in advance to receive a full refund. There will be no refunds or transfers if you cancel with less than three days notice or fail to show up.
Please allow 2-3 business days for all refunds to be processed.

Inclement Weather Policy
Open Signal follows the Portland Public Schools weather closure policy. If a workshop is closed to inclement weather, we will attempt to reschedule the workshop within the term. Full refunds or class exchanges will be offered if students can not make the rescheduled date.
