What the heck is a Silent Auction?
A Silent Auction is a well known and often used way to raise money for the WildCat Legal Defense Fund. Items to auction off are donated by local people in our community. You have the opportunity to bid for them in a fun back and forth auction with others who are also interested in that item. For items you win the bid on, keep them for yourself or give away to someone else as a gift.
How does the Silent Auction work?
Starting at 5pm on Saturday, January 19, the auction items will be on display in the lobby. Anyone who buys a ticket for the event can select a bidder name when they register at the door. This is an alias you will use in the silent auction when you bid on auction items. You can chose a fun name from a list of Animal, Mineral or Vegetable words that adds a bit of fun, mystery and security to the auction process.
When you see an auction item you want, place a bid that is higher than the current bid on the bid sheet. Check back regularly and re-bid a higher amount when someone has outbid you, up to the point that you feel comfortable with in the spirit of a fundraiser.
The bidding ends at 11:15 pm on Saturday, January 19, with all items sold to the highest bidder.
If I leave before 11:15 pm or can't come at all, can I still bid in the auction?
Everyone who buys a ticket to the event can bid on auction items from remote locations, including a smart phone!! The bid sheet is an online Google Spreadsheet, with pics of the items.
If you leave the event before 11:15, you can assign a proxy to continue the bidding for you on items you designate, with predetermined bid increments and a top bid price you are prepared to spend for that item.
What kind of things are for sale at this Auction?
Local independent Artisans, Craftspersons, Service Providers and businesses are donating a wide range of things for us to take away and enjoy.
Jewelry, Paintings, Furniture and many other tangible items.
Gift Certificates for chiropractic care, massage, other healing modalities, personal coaching, dance classes, home repair & maintenance, computer/IT consulting and much more.
Why are people donating things?
It's a great way to contribute to the fundraiser spirit and gives us things to auction off or give away as door prizes. The donors have an opportunity to get the word out about what they do to a large group of people from other communities in the area, a free networking opportunity.
How do I get my donated item into the Silent Auction?
Post your item, preferably with a photo, on the group page and an auction coordinator will contact you. Include a link or contact info in your post if you want.

How is the Raffle different from the Silent Auction?
Unlike the Silent Auction, where you bid on items that are particularly interesting to you, the Raffle is a random drawing from all the combined raffle tickets sold on-line and at the Event.
The more Raffle tickets you purchase, the greater the chance you will win a prize. So buy some raffle tickets on-line now with your ticket purchase!
Raffle Prizes include free Chiropractic care, Massage session, Hairstyles, Jewelry, Computer/IT consulting and other great items!
Do I have to be present to win?
No. If you win a raffle prize or the high bid on an auction item, and you are not present at that time, you will be notified and can arrange pickup after the Event.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
No alcohol served, so no ID's required!
Properly supervised kids 14 and under are most welcome & get in free!
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Leave your paper ticket attached to that poor tree!! We will have a list with your pre-paid tickets available at the door starting at 5pm.
All raffle tickets purchased on-line will be automatically added to the drawing.
