Adults on the Spectrum Group
Please join us on Thursday, October 20, from 6:30-8:00 PM for something fun!
Adults on the Spectrum (Autism Society of Nebraska-Omaha) will be meeting in Omaha at the Community Engagement Center (CEC, University of Nebraska at Omaha, 6001 Dodge Street). Any and all adults, aged 18 and older, are welcome to attend.
This month we have a speaker, Mara Valentine Fritts, who will be coming to talk about makeup techniques and such for Halloween. Known for her artistic abilities in the Lincoln community, particularly for things like the Zombie Walk, we should all walk away with a better understanding of how to improve our looks for Halloween.
Also, this month, I am hoping for us to visit the sensory art exhibit in the Weber Fine Arts building. I will confirm once I receive a response.
Since it is working well in Lincoln, you are welcome to bring your children needing supervision, but you must supervise them. Know that the expectation is that they be able to play quietly without disrupting the group. Make sure the child brings something to keep him or herself entertained.
For those so inclined, you are welcome to Dress Up for this special night. Snacks will be provided, but please bring yourself something to drink!
Please note the location on the UNO Campus, Community Engagement Center, Room 128. Free parking is available in lots E/D on the northside of the main entrance to the Community Engagement Center. For access to the parking lot, just let the attendant know you are attending the Autism Society meeting.
