*PLEASE NOTE: If the class of your choice is full or canceled due to lack of enrollment, you will be notified and entitled to a full refund. Class tuition is due in full on or before the first day of the class session. Make-up classes will only be offered when the instructor is unable to teach his/her class.

LAC LetterpressLetterpress Beginner Class

Enrollment: 2 students per class
Cost: $27 per student, includes all materials
**As enrollment for classes is extremely limited, online registration for these classes is not available at this time.**
For the first time classes are being offered in the recently established LAC Letterpress Studio at the main Library Arts Center location. In a two-hour class, students will learn the basics of setting type, locking it into the press, and printing on an 1870s manually-operated tabletop platen press. Students will go home with note cards printed with a quote or sentiment of their choosing, including a picture from an antique printing plate, if desired. This class is a prerequisite for future use of the Letterpress Studio.

Tuition: $10 per session
Maximum number of participants: 4 *pre-registration required
Pre-requisite: Letterpress Beginner Class (either at LAC or Dartmouth Books Arts Dept)
Come work on your own project at the Letterpress Studio using any of the tools and equipment in the studio. Work independently, but with guidance and assistance as needed. Three presses are available for use – two platen presses and one flat bed press, many colors of ink, and approximately 50 type styles/sizes and 100 plates with images. Traditional projects or creative projects are welcome, including wood cuts or lino cuts, and collagraph. We are willing to experiment with you. Possible items you can print include notecards, personalized stationery, small posters, coasters, booklets, business cards, greeting cards, invitations.

Tuition: Range: $116 to $145 depending on your specific basket choice: see link for BASKET OPTIONS
In this one-day workshop students can choose to make one of a variety of baskets including a wool gathering basket, laundry basket, double-pie, or pack basket (see other options at the link below). The baskets will be woven using reed with a hardwood base, rails, and rim. All materials are created and prepared by Ray Lagasse. Each participant will be asked to choose which basket he or she will be making upon registration. Each Student will leave the workshop with the completed basket of his or her choosing. Registration will close a week before the class starts. **Students who cancel before the class will still owe a $35 fee for materials preparation.

Drawing with Peter Granucci

Spring Drawing Session
April 8, 15, 22, 29, May 6, 5-6:30pm

Tuition: $170 per seasonal session

Learn to draw with confidence and ease! Discover the joy of drawing the world as you see it (or as you want it to be!) Anyone can draw Peter has been drawing for fifty years and teaching for thirty five. He knows how to simplify the process to make it easy for anyone to draw.
Over time this series will cover every aspect of drawing; from the fundamentals to the advanced. Drawing in this class will be discussed both as an end in itself; and as it relates to painting better paintings. This is an ongoing series that will meet three times a year. Five classes per session 1.5 hours each class.
Each five session class will have a new focus and all new lessons. They are designed to be short and intensive sessions, with time to work and practice between. All levels can benefit from these classes , but it is directed mostly at beginner and intermediate levels. This class is always welcoming new students in new sessions.

Drop in Watercolor for Beginner and Intermediate Students

Instructor: Becky Bense
Tuesdays 9am – 12noon, (Drop-ins welcome. No pre-registration necessary.)
Location: Library Arts Center Studio at our MAIN Studio Location: 58 N. Main St.
Tuition: $15 per session
Learn the basics or work on developing what you already know in this drop in watercolor class. Each class will be modified to fit whomever shows up! The lessons Becky shares each week will help beginners learn the basics while engaging intermediate painters in ways that will develop their skills.
Bring what you have for supplies. If you don’t have supplies, please do not buy anything! Starter supplies will be available for students to use, and then you can talk with the instructor to decide what material purchases to make.

Watercolor for Differently-Abled Adults

ONGOING, Friday mornings 9 am-12 noon

Tuition: $6 a session, includes materials
This inclusive group meets in the studio for inspired watercolor art projects with artist and instructor Becky Bense. This class is designed to engage differently-abled adults as well as their caregivers in fun, creative art projects! Please contact the Library Arts Center if you know of a student who would be interested in joining this group.
